So this was where our London Study took us today!
First up St. Paul's Cathedral. Now let me tell you what I learned. It was designed by Christopher Wren to replace 'Old St. Paul's' that was destroyed in the Great Fire (1666). It took 35 years to build, and was completed in 1710. Its dome is the 3rd largest in the world. It was built in Renaissance style. Wren wanted it light and open, unlike Medieval churches. He kept the design less gaudy and more simple and open. When Queen Victoria later visited it, she complained of it boringness and so that is how the huge domed ceilings came to be covered in over 1 million sparkling glass and glittering gold mosaic pieces depicting the creation.

We made sure to climb to the top and see the view. It was really cool to see the whole city like that.

Afterwards we went to the London Museum. It has exhibits about the city's history. We didn't take to much time going through it. I wasn't feeling museums today.
Before heading home we walked on the Millenium Bridge. It was surprisingly entertaining for a footbridge. It was fun to look across and see the Globe Theatre on the opposite bank.
Well that's it. Time for more reading!
xoxo
